Bahia Solano and El Valle

These two populations of the Pacific coast of Choco, some 250 km west of Medellin, are gradually being developed as tourist resorts. The facilities are weak, but the beaches, including Playa Larga in El Valle, are excellent.

Both towns are good bases from where you can organize trips up river. Also they offer many opportunities to explore the dense rain forest or watching to many animals. Not far away, the Ensenada de Utria National Park that includes the Solomon Island is a good place to watch whales and dolphins.
