The two main attractions of the southwest are the archaeological sites of San Agustin and Tierradentro, and the colonial city of Popayan.

Both San Agustin and Tierradentro are full of ancient statues, tombs and burial mounds, while in the other hand Popayan has many churches, museums and streets with colonial mansions. Cali, the third largest city, stands out more for its relaxed atmosphere than its tourist attractions.
