Dusseldorf is Germany’s nicest town. This modern city located on the banks of the famous Rhine River is simply awesome. Your visit to Germany would remain rather incomplete if you don’t take flights to Dusseldorf and explore it.
Last year, I booked flight tickets to Dusseldorf at cheap rates and headed to this magnificent city. I was on a short trip here and just wanted to explore the city and take a look at some of its prominent attractions. This city is Western Germany’s premier economic center and famous for its vibrant nightlife. Tourists in large numbers throng to Dusseldorf to see its many events, trade and fashion shows and carnival. Most of the tourists make it a point to book their cheaptickets and visit the city during the summer months to participate in the big fair Kirmes, which is held for nine days.
I want to share my experience regarding my short trip to Dusseldorf. I was traveling from the UK and took British Airways flights to reach Dusseldorf. It was a very short flight from London, and I landed at Dusseldorf International Airport after 1 hr 30 mins. The journey was smooth and hassle free. I hired a taxi and reached the city center for my stay. I preferred not to venture out in the city on Day 1 of my travel. I simply decided to spend my entire day relaxing and eating at some of the excellent restaurants in the city.
On Day 2, after a perfect relaxation, I was ready to explore the city and headed to the Old City to get a feel of the history and of bygone era. While on a tour of the Old City, it is simply as if you are being taken down the memory lane. It was a great feeling when I visited the Castle Tower. I also visited the historic St. Andreas Church. I spent my whole day visiting the Old City in Dusseldorf. I also did some shopping. The fabled nightlife of the city was indeed fascinating and I had some of the great moments enjoying the nightlife here.
I was now into Day 3 of my stay at Dusseldorf. I planned to visit some more of its attractions. It was time to set out for the historic Benrath Palace, which is above 200 years old. This is a must-visit site during your Dusseldorf stay. The Benrath Palace dates to the late Baroque era, and is situated in a very beautiful park.
I planned to spend my entire day visiting some of the famous museums of Dusseldorf on Day 4. The visit to these museums was fabulous indeed. It was a tiresome day for me. I decided to have a great dinner and headed to the pricey Rhine Tower. The dinner was sumptuous and delicious. The Rhine Tower presented an awesome sight by offering a 360 degree view of the magnificent Dusseldorf city.
This is my brief account of my short stay in Dusseldorf. My experiences here will surely help other visitors to plan their travel beforehand, particularly when they are on a short visit to Dusseldorf.
